Library Assistant

Length of Class: Year (both 1st & 2nd semesters)

Grade Level(s): 8th Grade

Elective A/B Class with a prerequisite GPA of 2.500 required from previous term with teacher approval

Library aide positions are available for those students who are interested in working with the library media teacher in a responsible fashion to support the library for the benefit of all.  Students will be expected to learn and perform needed skills with this experience. Skills in the Library Aide position include routine circulation tasks, assisting of patrons, answering the phone, filing of materials, and assisting the library staff with needed paperwork. Additional skills include.  Other expectations include keeping grades up, improving their individual responsibility, as well as people and organizational skills.
