Prerequisite(s): Student must qualify, selection by IEP team.

A resource pullout class where basic reading and writing skills are covered. Writing skills include parts of speech, sentence, and paragraph building. Reading unit includes both fiction and nonfiction. Students will learn Latin/Greek word roots as part of the vocabulary curriculum. Regular classroom literature and grammar books are often used in these classes, with an emphasis on student selected texts. Study skills and organizational skills are incorporated into the structure of this class. Classes are developed according to the needs of the students with emphasis on developing the necessary life skills required to succeed after high school.
